18-Tonne Excavator Operator (JCB 180)

Location: Co. Dublin

Sherlock Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced 18-Tonne Excavator Operator (JCB 180) for an ongoing construction and civil engineering project.

We are looking for a reliable, safety-conscious operator with strong experience operating tracked excavators on busy construction sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operating an 18-tonne tracked excavator (JCB 180) safely and efficiently.

  • Excavating foundations, building footings and bulk excavation.

  • Carrying out drainage, ducting and service trench excavations.

  • Loading dumpers and articulated dump trucks.

  • Backfilling trenches and foundations.

  • Levelling, grading and preparing ground for construction works.

  • Using hydraulic breakers for concrete and hardstanding removal.

  • Assisting groundworkers and pipe layers with excavation and drainage installation.

  • Maintaining a safe working environment on site.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience operating 18-tonne excavators.

  • Valid Safe Pass.

  • Valid Manual Handling certificate.

  • Relevant excavator/operator certification.

  • Strong understanding of site safety and safe machine operation.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Good timekeeping and reliability.
